Agreed, lady -- there is a fine line between being able to feel great saying we're in this position versus actually engaging in the acts required of a seasoned grad student. I am proud and happy to be able to be in the position, but wary of doing the actual work. But still...yay for us! Totally remember sitting in orientation, oblivious to the fact that once we accomplished one milestone another academic hurdle was to follow. S'all good though - reveling in small victories is how I made it this far and I'm assuming it's how I'll make it through the rest of my career! So happy to be able to share in good times with my academia-mommy-friend. Playdate (and not work date!) soon, please! XO, A.
Ha, I want to share your enthusiasm! To me, it feels fucking stressful to say I am a fifth year graduate student working on my dissertation!
ReplyDeleteBut really, can you believe it! It seems like just yesterday we were sitting in orientation. :)
