Like the writer of this post, I am a mommy blog lurker, but never a participant. But when I lurk, I am terribly confused by all the acronyms. This post from Jezebel - an Overwhelming Glossary of Mommy Message Board Lingo - is a helpful guide. Below are a few of my favorites:
BD - Baby dancing (sex for conception) -- ha!
DF - Dear fiance; DH - Dear husband; DS - Dear son -- I find this particularly cringe- worthy. Why not just say son? And DH makes me gag almost as much as the word, "hubby". Ew.
NAK - Nursing at keyboard -- can we saw TMI?
NTNP - Not trying/not preventing -- How very specific. And borderlining the comment above.
POAS - Pee on a stick -- Do people say this with such frequency that it warrants an acronym?
um thank you. i kept coming up with a different DH every time i've seen the the last few years. narrowed it down to Dedicated Husband and Devoted Husband...neither of which were right.
